About this handpan
This instrument supports two tonal centers – a meditative minor world in F, and a Carnatic-inspired mood when centered on C. It is an extremely beginner friendly handpan scale – the evenly spaced notes enable quick mastery of the instrument.
Sound & Scale
The Integral scale is a hexatonic scale was created to move beyond musical limitations of the traditional Carnatic Music and the more recent Western Music. It is derived from the natural minor scale by excluding the tense 4th scale degree to create a meditative and harmonious sound. There is no equivalent Carnatic Raaga, even with Graha Bedam. The closest feel may be felt in Revati Raaga.
